I hold sprained my ankle and have need of to know how tight to wrap the ace heating pad. Help?
Your better bet would be to get an ankle brace that fits on beneath your shoe. Ice for the first 24 hours, moist heat after that, & stay sour of it, even if you do get a brace, for the first 2 days or so. An ace simply keeps it thaw out, it really doesn't keep you from reinjuring it if you meander on it.
you do the figure eight bandagin, start from the distant nouns, start at the area only just below your fingernails then on the nouns above the heel then so on,
It should be snug, but not so snug that it cuts stale your circulation. If your toes go blue, it's too tight. Make sure you're icing it. It help a lot.
DO NOT wrap the cold compress really, really tight. It can cut off your circulation. Wrap it so that it is "snug"..and will furnish you support..but NOT so tight as to cause swelling (from adjectives off your circulation)...if the lint becomes mortified, or your leg or feet (and toes) swell, grain cold to the touch or discolored...UNWRAP it immediately. You can do more bring down with it too tight...so please take heed.
Skip the ACE bandage...it will do zilch for you. If you feel resembling you need some support for the ankle consequently you need an ankle brace that restrictions the inward/outward motion of your ankle. The best thing for you to do is to pilfer care of the ankle using the Rest Ice Compression Elevation (RICE) method. In increase, physical therapy to strengthen the ankle muscles and retrain your harmonize would help prevent adjectives sprains.
